In recent years, the agricultural land area in Indonesia has steadily declined due to land-use conversion. Additionally, climate change has disrupted traditional farming patterns, further impacting agricultural productivity.
To address these challenges, various stakeholders — including private sector companies — have begun to actively contribute to efforts aimed at strengthening national food security.
One such initiative comes from PT Phoenix Resources International (PRI) through its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program, which provided crop seed assistance to six farmer groups (poktan) located in Juata Permai and Juata Laut sub-districts, in North Tarakan.
In total, the six farmer groups across the two sub-districts received 112,500 crop seeds from PT PRI as part of this initiative.
